Ronita Mookerji

Ronita is a dedicated dance facilitator and is an integral part of Attakkalari’s Education Outreach Programme. She leaded classes in Contemporary Dance for students between the ages of four and fourteen weekly at Attakkalari. She has also taught modules for children for Attakkalari’s Summer Camps as well as various schools and pre-schools in Contemporary and Creative dance.Ronita has been actively facilitating/choreographing/teaching dance to people of ALL AGE GROUPS :- In Preschools,Montessori, Schools,Colleges, Corporate Sectors,etc. to say a few,since 2009.

She also conducts classes for Adults in Contemporary Dance vocabulary and dance fitness / body conditioning.

Recently, she took the project of Choreographing the Annual Day Show “Samasara 2015-16” for the Viveka School of Excellence, A Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement Initiative and choreographed for the whole school that comprised 400 students. They said :

“Ms. Ronita with her passion and enthusiasm made the entire school to dance, which includes children from 3 to 15 years, Teachers and Parents. Ms. Ronita was rigorous , equally demanding, brought a sense of discipline and rigour required for profession work.”

At School and College level,she was a part of the Dhristikon Cultural Club of La Martiniere for Girls School Kolkata and performed in various school events, competitions, concerts and festivals. In College, she did the opening event for St.Xavier’s College Kolkata when it became a deemed University, in the presence of Gopalakrishna Gandhi as well as participated in many inter/intra college dance events. She has also been the school’s senior and junior prefect. Also was a part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kolkata.

Besides, she finished her schooling in La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata. She graduated in B.Sc.in Microbiology Honours with first class from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. Also trained in Hindusthani Classical music and Carnatic music. She finds interest in sketching and sewing.
